    Dr Gan See Khem is the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Health Management International Ltd (“HMI Group”). She has been instrumental in spearheading the Group’s healthcare and education businesses since 1999.

    Dr Gan is an active figure in public services and currently serves on the Malaysia-Singapore Business Council. She served as the first woman President of the Singapore Gan Clan Association and is distinguished as one of the first two women to become a council member at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1995. Dr Gan is a former Nominated Member of Parliament of the Republic of Singapore. Dr Gan’s many achievements were also recently highlighted in the Women Entrepreneur Awards 2018, where she was recognized as the SuperNova Women Entrepreneur of Year 2018.

    She was also previously on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of South East Asian Studies and Singapore Management University (“SMU”), and was a member of the International Advisory Board of Curtin Business School. In 2015, Dr Gan received the SG50 Outstanding Chinese Business Pioneers Award from the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Dr Gan specialised in strategic planning and management during her 15-year tenure at the National University of Singapore.

    She holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.

    Ms Chin Wei Jia was appointed as an Executive Director of HMI Group in October 2014 and as Group Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of HMI Group in September 2015. As Group CEO, she oversees and leads the strategic and operational activities of the Group. She is also the Managing Director of Mahkota Medical Centre (“Mahkota”) and Regency Specialist Hospital (“Regency”).

    Ms Chin first joined HMI Group in 2002 and has played a key role in the development of HMI Group into a SGX mainboard listed healthcare company. She had contributed to the start of HMI Group’s education business via the launch of HMI Institute. Ms Chin was also a member of the core team that first commissioned Regency in 2008, and previously served as CEO of Regency from 2013 to 2016. Ms Chin recently spearheaded the Group’s entry into the Singapore private healthcare sector with the establishment of StarMed Specialist Centre, Singapore’s latest one-stop ambulatory care centre.

    She is a member of the Malaysia-Singapore Business Council.

    Ms Chin holds a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in Economics and International Relations from Boston University, USA. She also has a Masters of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, USA. Ms Chin is the daughter of the Executive Chairman, Dr Gan See Khem and the sister of the Group Chief Financial Officer, Mr Chin Wei Yao.

    Mr Chin Wei Yao was appointed as an Executive Director of HMI Group in October 2015 and as Group Chief Financial Officer with effect from October 2016. He is responsible for the Group’s overall financial reporting matters and driving the development of the Group’s healthcare services business. One recent development is Mr Chin’s efforts in ensuring HMI Group’s successful acquisition and establishment of StarMed Specialist Centre, Singapore’s latest one-stop day-surgery and multi-disciplinary medical centre that offers quality clinical services at competitive private sector prices. Mr Chin is also an Executive Director of Mahkota.

    Mr Chin started out his career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in 2007. Prior to joining HMI Group, Mr Chin worked for 8 years in private equity and investment banking in South East Asia. His last position was Associate Director at KV Asia Capital where he was responsible for investment execution and portfolio management. He was previously a Vice President at Sindicatum Sustainable Resources Group where he oversaw a portfolio of clean energy investments.

    Mr Chin holds a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in Economics (Honours) from New York University, USA. He is also an affiliate member of the Association Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”). Mr Chin is the son of the Executive Chairman, Dr Gan See Khem and the brother of the Group Chief Executive Officer, Ms Chin Wei Jia.

    Professor Koh is the Lead Independent Director of HMI Group. She is Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee and Remuneration Committee of HMI Group. She is Vice President for the Office of Business Development, Singapore Management University, a Finance Professor (Practice), and Academic Director for two-university level institutes – the Business Families
    Institute and International Trading Institute.

    In addition, Professor Koh is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Futures Council on New Social Contract and, a board member of Prudential Assurance Company Singapore Pte Ltd, Singapore’s Central Provident Fund and Family Firm Institute, Inc.

    A notable conference speaker, panel moderator and commentator, Professor Koh chairs the finance and investment committee of GovTech Singapore Board, and the Asian Bond Fund 2 Supervisory Committee of Monetary Authority of Singapore and served on the SkillsFuture HR Sectoral Tripartite Committee, HR Certification Taskforce, advises a number of startup firms such as Stashaway and Staff-on-Demand. She served on K1 Ventures board from 2013 to 2017.

    Professor Koh holds a PhD in International Finance from the Stern School of Business, New York University. She is awarded the Singapore Public Administration Medal, Bronze (2010), Silver (2016), and the Adult Education Prism Award (2017) for her contributions to the education and public sectors.

    Dr Cheah Way Mun is an Independent Non-Executive Director of HMI Group. He is also a member of the Remuneration Committee and Nominating Committee of HMI Group.

    Dr Cheah is an accomplished ophthalmic surgeon in private practice. He was previously the head of the eye department of Tan Tock Seng Hospital and a visiting consultant of the National University Hospital and the Singapore National Eye Centre.

    Dr Cheah holds an MBBS from the then University of Singapore and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow and Edinburgh) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

    Professor Tan Chin Tiong is an Independent Non-Executive Director of HMI Group. He is the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and Nominating Committee of HMI Group. He is also a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of HMI Group.

    He was the Founding Provost of Singapore Management University (“SMU”) and the Founding President of Singapore Institute of Technology (“SIT”).

    Professor Tan is currently the senior advisor to the President of SMU. He is also a professor of marketing and has co-authored several books on marketing and business and consulted for corporations around the world. Professor Tan is an Independent Director of MYP Ltd and Coteccons Construction Stock Company (Vietnam).

    Professor Tan holds a PhD from the Pennsylvania State University, USA.

    Mr Chong Ton Nen @ Peter Chong is an Independent Non-Executive Director of HMI Group and a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of HMI Group.

    Mr Chong is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Peter Chong & Co. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

    Mr Chong served his articles of clerkship with Hacker Young, London in 1968. Upon obtaining his membership with the ICAEW, he returned to Malaysia and joined an international firm in Penang prior to setting up Peter Chong & Co. in 1974. Peter Chong & Co. has grown to become an established auditing and financial services firm with offices in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

    He provides financial and corporate advisory services to various clients including those listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad with a diverse range of industries and businesses. He also assisted in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and debt restructurings and Initial Public Offerings.

    Mr Chong was Regional Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Region of BKR International from 2011 to 2013, a global association of independent accounting and business advisory firms in 300 offices in over 70 countries around the world.
